The Sensitive Plant
It grows on the ground in fields and open grass, it is prolific on parts of the Hawaiian Islands.
Touch its leaves and it closes up immediately. It has a little pink pom-pom of a flower with extended delicate petals. Its fruit is pineapple-like in shape.
I like to stop and say hello when I see these plants. They remind me to be mindful of the ground I walk upon.
